New standard sustainable material, “muscle-CARDBOARD”

Tough yet light. ACE LUGAGGE plans and develops products made of muscle card board (heavy-duty cardboard) as a new material.

Thinking about the future of the earth to protect travel. We focused on muscle card board as a way to help protect the natural environment.

What is “muscle-CARDBOARD”

ACE LUGGAGEが提唱する、新定番に台頭する素材「マッスルカードボード」。

これは一般的なダンボールとは似て非なるもの。重量物の梱包用箱やパレットなどの木材・鉄・アルミ・プラスチックに代わる対荷重の大きさと高い強度が魅力の素材として、世界中で使用されています。

1950年代にアメリカで誕生し、木箱に変わる包装資材として活用されてきたこの素材。エンジン、半導体などの精密機械部品、また液体や粉末まで、重くてデリケートな荷物も梱包可能な優れもの。

また無漂白の天然素材で作られ、食品が触れても問題ない素材として認められいるなど、純粋無垢な素材です。 

Strong and Kind

When comparing boxes of the same volume, muscle- CARDBOARD can reduce the amount of wood used by 60%* . Sustainable production is possible as the main raw material is wood from managed forests certified by the World Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The reason for "muscle"

Unlike regular cardboard, the outer flat paper (liner) is extremely hard and has approximately 10 times the pressure resistance of regular cardboard. The main raw material is virgin pulp, and the secret to its strength is that the fibers are longer than usual.

Lift easily with just a few muscles

When comparing wood and muscle card board in terms of material weight, wood weighs an average of 9 kg per square meter with a thickness of 15 mm, while muscle card board weighs 2.2 kg, which is approximately one-fourth of the weight * of wood. Masu.

High quality resource recycling

When it is no longer needed, it can be recycled together with general cardboard instead of bulky waste. Since virgin pulp is the main raw material, it can be recycled as a high-quality resource.
